Biocontrol of Animal Pests: Possums

The possum problem in New Zealand is so big biocontrol may be the only way to deal with it. There is a huge amount of research being done into how to use biocontrol for possums. However, no one method has proved to be effective as yet. I know the DoC are not using any biocontrol methods at the moment. The main difficulty is the reproductive processes of marsupials like possums has not yet been studied in enough detail to provide us with a simple method of making them infertile.
